X-Winch Platform
The X-Winch stands out as a highly compact zero-fleet winch. Our novel compensator (patent pending) eliminates the axial rope force from the sliding sheave, allowing the drum helix to move the slider without a lead screw or ball screw. A direct drive motor eliminates the need for a gearbox reducing self-weight and size while the Mayr Stage brake minimises system stresses during class-0 stops, critical for performer flying. The X-300 model is available with a gearbox variant capable of higher loads.
Capable of single line and roll on/roll off configurations the winch is fitted with innovative optical cross groove sensors that are compatible with steel or synthetic ropes. Optional on board load cells on all lines provide constant load monitoring, detecting over-load, under-load, and snags.
Indicative performance specs only — speed, load and stroke are customisable.
Open Tow Platform
An economical hoist for applications where zero fleet is not necessary. The Open Tow Platform comes fitted with dual redundant brakes, dual encoders and cross groove sensors compatible with steel and synthetic rope. Optional external load cells and slack rope detection devices can be added to enable applications up to EN17206 UC6.
Indicative performance specs only — speed, load and stroke are customisable.
HF Platform
The HF Platform is a stage hoist designed and manufactured by PLD Engineering and sold by Open Automation under licence. Available in 1 and 2 line configurations the zero fleet hoist offers a great balance of performance, features and price point.
Indicative performance specs only — speed, load and stroke are customisable.
Whirly Reeler
A specialist winch designed to allow an electrical or fibre optic cable to be reeled without the need for slip rings. Originally designed to position microphones in a concert hall environment the hoists are fully compliant for UC4 under EN17206. An optional powered diverter ensures cable tension to the winch with complicated divert paths.
Small, quiet and compact, the Whirly Reeler can be used to lift microphones, cameras or any device needing a reliable signal. The machine can also operate as a tension follower, maintaining a constant cable tension while connected to a device moved by others.
Indicative performance specs only — speed, load and stroke are customisable.
The MAS platform.
Motion control, network management, and remote monitoring — all designed to work together and to work with third-party systems.
MAS Drive
The MAS Drive is a high performance servo drive capable of powering synchronous and asynchronous motors with a variety of feedback options. The Standard variant has full position control onboard enabling true motion control profiles even when in local control. The Light variant relies on an external PLC for motion control and safety, connected via a dedicated EtherCat interface.
All MAS Drives utilise the AutoNet cabling system to ensure maximum cross compatibility. Currently available in 40A and 18A continuous rated models further sizes are coming soon.
MAS Gateway
The MAS Gateway is the central hub of a MAS automation system. It houses the main PLC and global safety controller connecting to MAS drives via up to 8 AutoNet E-Stop connections along auxiliary EtherCat and EtherNet connections.
Housed in a 6RU 19" form factor, the RAAM also provides manual axis control and system diagnostics display by an 8" capacitive touchscreen.
MAS RAAM
Remote Access And Monitoring enabling remote diagnostics, fault telemetry, and secure, effective support access from anywhere with an internet connection. Dedicated networking hardware provides stable and secure handoff of data streams such as PSN and OSC to third parties.
Control surfaces.
Hardware operator interfaces for the MAS system — from permanent installation desks to touring-optimised surfaces.
XM Console
Running XMove software, 4 independent playbacks, 4K display.
Cabling and software.
Every MAS system needs purpose-made cabling and the software that runs it all.
AutoNet E-Stop
Connecting gateways and drives, AutoNet Estop carries EtherCat, EtherNet, remote estop and global estop status.
EnquireAutoNet Mech
Connecting MAS drives and the machines they control, AutoNet Mech carries EtherCat and power for remote devices along with 24Vdc and 230Vac brake control signals.
EnquireMAS Runtime
MAS Runtime's modular architecture separates core functions through well-defined interfaces, enabling axis behaviour to be tailored to each machine while proven systems handle motion and control coordination. This allows confident upgrades and lets partners with PLC experience customise axis behaviour or integrate with existing control systems, without touching the underlying motion engine.
EnquireMAS Velocity Interface
A dedicated interface for 3rd party position controllers to control MAS drives enabling customers to integrate Open Automation equipment to their existing systems.
